Iran gave freedom to Indian ships in Hormuz! While announcing this, the Ministry of External Affairs said – ‘Don’t tell all the things…’
New Delhi: The war between America, Israel and Iran in the Middle East has been going on for more than two weeks. Iran has intensified attacks on Israel and Gulf countries. The movement of oil and ships is being affected through the Strait of Hormuz, due to which the risk of energy crisis in the world has increased. India is constantly monitoring this situation and is giving priority to the safety of Indians.
Jaishankar-Iranian Foreign Minister conversation
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told in the press briefing that after the crisis started, Foreign Minister S. There were talks between Jaishankar and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi three times. In the last conversation, important issues like energy supply and safety of ships were discussed.
Jaiswal clearly said that further details of this conversation cannot be shared right now, because it would be premature. India is trying to maintain peace and safe sea lanes in the region through diplomacy.
Situation of Indians stranded in Iran
There are about 9,000 Indians in Iran, including students, businessmen, sailors and pilgrims. Many people have returned to India after the advisory issued on 24 February. The remaining people are being taken to safe places.
The Indian Embassy is in constant touch with them and arrangements are being made for those who want to return. After the US-Israel attacks, special attention has been given to students and other citizens.
Iranian ship allowed to dock in India
The Ministry of External Affairs informed that on February 20, Iran had demanded to dock three ships at Indian ports. India approved it on March 1. One of these ships, IRIS Lavan, reached Kochi on 4 March. Its crew is currently in the facilities of the Indian Navy. This decision was taken on humanitarian grounds.
Sign condolence book
On March 5, the Foreign Secretary visited the Iranian Embassy and signed the condolence book and expressed condolences on behalf of India. This booklet was opened for the first time on the same day. The Government of India is active at the diplomatic level for the safe movement of ships on the Hormuz Route and is taking all steps to ensure the safety of Indian citizens.
