LPG Crisis: Now gas cylinders in rural areas will be booked again after 45 days, the government gave this reasoning behind the change in booking rules.

Supplies are also coming from other routes. CNG supply continues 100%. We are taking fuel from Canada, Norway, Russia. LPG production has increased by 28 percent. He said that we are fully prepared to deal with such situations for a long time. Demand has increased due to panic in the country. Priorities have been set regarding gas. On LPG crisis, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri said in Lok Sabha that crude supply in India is safe. He said that 20 percent of the traffic from Hormuz is affected. There is enough gas in the country right now. There is no need to panic on gas cylinder.
But contrary to this claim, the government has made major changes regarding LPG cylinders for rural areas. Now the time for next booking of LPG cylinder in villages has been increased to 45 days. Earlier, consumers in rural areas could book the next cylinder only within 25 days. According to the information received, the government claims that this decision has been taken so that unnecessary hasty booking of cylinders can be stopped and the supply can be managed in a better way. In recent days, due to rumors at many places, people were booking cylinders in a hurry.
According to sources, on an average a family in rural areas uses only about five LPG cylinders in a year. In such a situation, there is no need for frequent early booking. For this reason the time between bookings has been increased to 45 days. However, the rules in urban areas will remain the same as before. Consumers in cities can still book the next cylinder within 25 days. The government believes that with this change the supply of cylinders will be better balanced and additional bookings due to rumors will also be prevented.

This decision has been taken by the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It is being said that people were booking LPG cylinders for domestic gas only after a gap of 15 days. Whereas this booking was for about 55 days. It came to light that people who earlier used to book cylinders in 55 days, now started booking cylinders in 15 days. Overall, this change made for rural areas has been implemented with the aim of maintaining stable LPG supply and preventing panic booking.
Ban on supply of commercial gas cylinders to hotels and restaurants
Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have given clear instructions that commercial gas cylinders will be given only to hospitals and schools and colleges. LPG Gas Dealers Association says that there is a shortage in the supply of commercial cylinders. Instructions have been given to sell non-domestic cylinders (commercial) only to hospitals and educational institutions.
