Young Sherlock Season 2 Update Is Great Sign for Fans of Prime Video TV Show

The latest update for Young Sherlock Season 2 is a great sign for fans of the Prime Video TV show.

Since its debut on March 4, Young Sherlock has been in Prime Video’s top 10 list. Despite the strong popularity, Prime Video has not commissioned a second season.

What is the Young Sherlock Season 2 update?

In an interview with DeadlineSimon Maxwell, an executive producer on Young Sherlock, revealed plans to tell more stories in the Young Sherlock universe if Prime Video allows it. Producers have already been scouting locations for Season 2.

“We know that in terms of the origin and coming-of-age story, we’ve just told the first stage. It is absolutely designed to be a multi-season show,” Maxwell said.

Season 1 explored the unlikely partnership between Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty. Knowing that these two will eventually become enemies is a storyline that Maxwell hopes to explore.

“We want to track the journeys that each of these characters are going to go on… by bringing Sherlock and Moriarty into the same frame and positioning them as friends, what you’re implicitly promising the audience is that you’re going to show them how they become enemies,” Maxwell added.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin stars as a young Sherlock Holmes before he became the world’s greatest detective. Sherlock’s first case is a “globe-trotting conspiracy, leading to an explosive showdown that alters the course of his life forever.”

Young Sherlock’s cast includes Dónal Finn as James Moriarty, Zine Tseng as Princess Gulun Shou’an, Joseph Fiennes as Silas Holmes, Natascha McElhone as Cordelia Holmes, Max Irons as Mycroft Holmes, and Colin Firth as Sir Bucephalus Hodge.

Matthew Parkhill created Young Sherlock based on Andrew Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes series and Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous character. Executive producer Guy Ritchie, who directed two Sherlock Holmes feature films, helmed the first two episodes of the series. Maxwell

“It’s too early to say that it’s a green light, but we’ve got the core team, and we’re in the early stages of prep, I would say. We’ve all worked together, obviously driven by Matthew, to build the story for a Season 2,” Maxwell said. “The intention is very much for Guy to come back and kick it off again with us.”
