LPG cylinder cost

In India, a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder available for domestic use is generally available for between Rs 900 to Rs 950. However, this price may change slightly depending on the state and city. Generally, in small families, one cylinder lasts for about a month, whereas in large families or homes that cook more frequently, the cylinder may run out quickly. The biggest advantage of gas stove is that it is considered more convenient for long cooking dishes and large utensils.

How does an induction cooktop work?

Induction cooktop does not produce fire like gas. It uses magnetic energy with the help of electricity and directly heats the vessel. For this reason, food is cooked quickly and the surrounding surface does not get too hot.

Induction cooktop is also considered very efficient in energy use. While a gas stove uses only about 35 to 40 percent of the energy for cooking, an induction cooktop can use about 85 to 90 percent of the energy.

LPG vs Induction: Monthly expenses for a small family

For a small family, if daily food is prepared on an electric induction cooker, then the electricity consumption depends on how long the induction works daily. Generally induction in homes is 1500 to 2000 watts. Understand with a general idea.

That means generally induction can be cheaper by Rs 200 to Rs 400. However, this will completely depend on the electricity rate, cooking time and family size. Apart from this, initial expenses also have to be incurred in purchasing induction and utensils with magnetic base for it.
