Monalisa spoke on marriage controversies, marriage as per Hindu tradition, rumors are baseless!
Monalisa, who sold flower garlands at the Maha Kumbh Mela, had become a viral sensation because of her big and blue eyes. Recently she has again come into limelight after marrying her boyfriend Farman Khan. On social media, their marriage is being described as love jihad, but now both of them have denied it.
Monalisa got married to her boyfriend Farman Khan in traditional Hindu rituals at the Arumanoor Sri Nainar Deva Temple in Poovar area near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. During the wedding, Monalisa was seen in a red colored saree, while Farman was wearing a white colored kurta and mundu.
Recently Monalisa and her husband Farman Khan spoke with IANS. He said that his marriage took place as per Hindu rituals and it was nothing like what people were thinking.
Monalisa said, “What people are thinking is nothing like that. Our marriage was completely done in the temple as per Hindu tradition. The rituals were followed during our marriage. My father might also be thinking something, but the rumors doing the rounds are wrong. We respect all religions and for us all religions are equal.”
Farman also expressed his views and supported the Kerala government. Farman said, “The Kerala government supported us, we thank them wholeheartedly. We did not even expect that so many people would come to our wedding.
We thought that there would be only a few people at our wedding and it would be a simple affair, but a lot of people and ministers had come. The Education Minister came and everyone blessed us and it is nothing like what people are saying. For us all religions are equal.”
The wedding videos of both are becoming quite viral on social media. At the same time, users are trolling Farman and Monalisa fiercely.
