Public sector Federal Bank has announced an increase in interest rates (FD Rates) on some tenures of fixed deposits. The new interest rates have come into effect from March 12, 2026. Apart from this, senior citizens are also getting additional interest. After the amendment, the minimum interest rate is 3% and maximum is 7.75%. Earlier the maximum interest rate for general citizens was 6.70%.
The bank is offering minimum 3.50% and maximum 7.25% interest to resident senior citizens. The highest interest is available on tenure of 36 months. The same citizens are getting 6.70% returns by investing for 15 months. All banks keep revising the interest rates on fixed deposits (FD) from time to time. Therefore, before investing, it is advisable to develop the official website of the bank or the nearest branch.

Earlier the bank used to offer 5.90% interest on tenure from 271 days to less than 1 year, which has been increased to 6%. Earlier, 6.50% return was available on tenure of 15 months, which has been increased to 6.70%. Whereas earlier 6.70% return was available on 36 months tenure, now the bank is offering 6.75% interest. This change will also apply to citizens. Customers aged 60 years or above will get 0.50% extra interest.
On investment of 181 days, general citizens are getting 6% return and senior citizens are getting 6.50% return. The bank is giving 6.25% return to the customers on investment of 1 year. Senior citizens will get 6.90% returns if invested for more than 36 months and up to 10 years.

- 30 to 45 days – 3.25%
- 46 to 90 days – 4.25%
- 91 to 180 days – 4.50%
- 181 days- 6%
- 182 days to 270 days – 5.50%
- From 271 days to less than 1 year – 6%
- More than 1 year and less than 15 months – 6.40%
- 15 months- 6.70%
- More than 15 months and less than 36 months – 6.40%
- 36 months- 6.70%
- Above 36 months and up to 10 years – 6.40%
- Senior citizens- 0.50% extra interest
