Hardik Pandya caught in controversy after celebrating T20 World Cup victory, complaint filed for alleged insult to tricolor, know the whole matter

Bangalore. Amidst the celebrations of India’s T20 World Cup victory, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is embroiled in a new controversy. A complaint has been filed against him for alleged insult to the national flag. This complaint has been given by Pune lawyer Wajid Khan Bidkar, who has demanded investigation and legal action from the police in the matter.

According to the complaint, this case has been registered at Shivaji Nagar Police Station. The lawyer has given a written application to the police demanding registration of FIR against the cricketer.

Complaint based on social media video-
The complaint states that after India’s T20 World Cup victory, many videos of players’ celebrations went viral on social media. In these videos, Hardik Pandya can be seen running in the field with the tricolor wrapped around his shoulder and celebrating.

The lawyer alleges that in a video, Pandya is seen lying on the stage with his girlfriend, while even at that time the tricolor was wrapped around his body. The complainant says that such behavior is against the dignity of the national flag.

Demand for action citing law-
Advocate Wajid Khan Bidkar said that it is the responsibility of every citizen to respect the national flag and there is a law for this. He told that in his complaint he has cited the law related to the national flag.

He said that during the celebration of T20 World Cup victory, Pandya was dancing with his girlfriend and the national flag was tied behind him. According to him, under the National Flag Act of 1971, it is necessary to maintain the dignity of the tricolor, but it was not respected during the celebration.

There was also a debate regarding filing a complaint-
The lawyer said that initially the police said that the incident happened in Ahmedabad, hence the complaint should be lodged there. However, he argued that the national flag is the symbol of the entire country, hence the issue related to its dignity can be raised anywhere.

Ultimately the police accepted his complaint and also gave him its copy. Now further action in the case will be decided after police investigation.

Pandya called Jeet the fulfillment of his promise-
On the other hand, Hardik Pandya has described T20 World Cup victory as the fulfillment of his personal resolve. He said that after the victory in Barbados in 2024, he had promised himself that whatever tournament he plays in, he will play to win it.

According to Pandya, the victory against the New Zealand national cricket team in Ahmedabad is proof that his promise has been fulfilled and this is just the beginning for the team.
