Lara Dutta hopes ‘good sense will come’ after being stuck with her daughter in Dubai

Mumbai Mumbai : Actress Lara Dutta has told that she is stuck in Dubai with her daughter Saira amid the ongoing unrest in the Middle East region. However, her husband Mahesh Bhupathi is not with her as he is out for work.

Lara told that while she was shooting, she suddenly heard the sound of explosions and missiles being intercepted.

Describing the past few days as stressful, she said in a video uploaded on her Instagram, “There were a lot of fighter jets flying overhead, very loud explosions. Even though we live in a villa and in a very safe neighbourhood, the windows shake, the house, the doors rattle, and it’s very scary. But I never once felt unsafe.”

Praising the UAE government, she added, “And I just want to say that the UAE government has done an amazing job, I think for every single person, I can say this, I won’t say for anyone else, we really felt taken care of. We felt wanted, we felt safe, no matter what our nationality or where we were from. We felt counted, we mattered.

And the UAE government, as a resident, as someone living in this city, is making sure that they do everything in their power to protect us and keep us safe. And I am surprised, my gardener is coming every day, mowing my lawn, looking at the plants. “Delivery riders are working.”

Lara further said that they are looking at flights to go back to India, but there are not many.

Keeping a positive mindset, the ‘Partners’ actress further added, “We will find a solution to this. But yes, I just wanted to say that we were there. I was in India, of course, when there was a fight between India and Pakistan, and we saw how well our country protected us there. And it is the same here.”

He further said, “No one, no one, no ordinary citizen deserves to live or be trapped in fear.”

Lara ends the clip by expressing hope that in the end, common sense and better judgment will prevail.
