Iran alleges that the technology provided by these companies has been used in Israel’s military operations. As a result, the offices and digital infrastructure of these companies are now being seen as potential targets.
This infrastructure is spread in Israel and Gulf countries
According to reports, the office and cloud service infrastructure in question is not only present in many cities of Israel but also in Gulf countries like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. According to a statement by Tasnim News Agency, the conflict is now moving from a conventional war to an infrastructure-based war. This means that potential targets are no longer limited to military targets; Technology related assets, data centers and digital networks can also come under its purview. As a result, the range of potential targets for Iran has expanded significantly more than ever before.
Reports of attacks on Amazon data centers
According to reports that emerged over the past week, Iranian drones targeted an Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center in Bahrain. Additionally, attacks have also been reported on two other AWS infrastructure facilities in the UAE. Following these attacks, incidents of fire were reported at some places, and many services had to be halted for some time. Emergency shutdowns were also implemented to control the situation.
According to a CNN report, Iranian state media claims that these data centers were being used by the US and Israel for military operations. This is the reason given for targeting them.
