West Asia Crisis: Dubai targeted again, explosion shakes buildings, attack foiled
Dubai. Amid rising tensions in West Asia, loud explosions were heard in Dubai for the second consecutive day. On Friday, the sound of loud explosions shook many buildings in the city. During this, a thick cloud of black smoke was seen in the sky in a part of central Dubai. According to eyewitnesses, two big explosions took place which shook the entire area.
What did the administration say?
The Dubai Media Office reported the incident on social media. They stated that security forces successfully intercepted an attack. During this operation, debris from the attack fell on the exterior of a building. Officials have described it as a minor incident. Fortunately, no one was killed or injured in the incident.
According to reports, sirens blared on Dubai’s main thoroughfare, Sheikh Zayed Road, immediately after the blasts. Police cordoned off the entire area for security reasons. The incident occurred near the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The blast and debris caused significant damage to the building.
This is the second consecutive day
of such an incident in Dubai. Earlier on Thursday, a drone-related incident occurred in the Al Bada area. Then, explosions were heard in the city center.
Tensions in the Gulf region have risen significantly since the outbreak of hostilities in West Asia on February 28th. Iran’s attacks have so far resulted in the deaths of 11 civilians in the region. The Dubai administration is monitoring the situation and has implemented strict security measures.
