PM Modi’s Kokrajhar tour cancelled, preparations for virtual inauguration in Guwahati, know what is the reason?
Guwahati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Guwahati on Friday on a two-day visit to Assam. His visit to Kokrajhar had to be canceled due to bad weather, but the Prime Minister will now inaugurate the development projects of Kokrajhar virtually. According to officials, this decision was taken in view of the bad weather conditions in the area.
Important tour before assembly elections in Assam-
This visit is considered very important before the Assam Assembly elections. This is PM’s fourth visit to Assam in the last four months. During this, he will inaugurate development projects worth a total of Rs 47,600 crore in the state. Despite the cancellation of the Kokrajhar programme, the Prime Minister will virtually launch the ‘Assam Mala 3.0’ scheme. Under this scheme, more than 900 km long roads will be constructed, which will improve connectivity between the states. Besides, the foundation stone of four flyovers and two bridges will also be laid in the Bodoland area.
Big announcements in railways, farmers and energy sectors-
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Railway Workshop at Bashbari and flag off three new trains—Kamakhya-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri Express and Narangi-Agartala Express. This is a special opportunity for the farmers, because the PM will release the 22nd installment of the PM-Kisan scheme for more than 9.3 crore farmers of the country.
Tea garden workers in Guwahati will be handed over land leases, which is a big step towards their rights. The energy sector will also see the inauguration of the Kopili Hydroelectric Project and the first phase of the North East Gas Grid.
More big events on Saturday-
On Saturday, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the ropeway project for the Kamakhya temple and inaugurate the PM Ekta Mall in Guwahati. After this he will leave for Silchar, where he will launch new schemes worth about Rs 23,550 crore.
