Sowing debt/satisfaction: Social activities are being implemented in the taluka for the last 25 years by Rotary Club Deonar of Mumbai. Through this Rotary Cup Kabaddi tournament was organized and in this tournament Kabaddi team from Sutarpada near Kalamb became the final winner.

Karjat Taluka Rural Rotary Mandal Kabaddi Tournament is organized every year by Deonar Rotary Club. Eight teams participated in Karjat Taluka Rural Rotary Mandal Kabaddi Tournament held at Hutatma Smarak in Manivali. The tournament was inaugurated by Alka Murali, president of Deonar Rotary. Karjat Rotary along with Senior Officer Kannan, Future President Nalini Kannan, and Ajit Pappu, Surendranath. Rural Mandal Coordinator Arjun Tare as well as martyr Hiraji Patil’s heir Vitthal Patil, Manivali Martyrs Memorial Committee President Praveen Dyre, Vice President Jitendra Gawli, Secretary Lahu Dyre along with Dattatray Patil of Rotary Farmers Rural Mandal, Rotary officials Arun Masane, Prakash Sonwale, Sitaram Bade, Maruti Bagde Guruji, Bharat Khadekar, Deshmukh and others were present.

The teams of Shelu, Humgaon, Kalamb, Potal Pali, Manivali, Bhivpuri, Borgaon, Ambewadi, Sutarpada participated in this competition. National ice stock player Nisarga Gawli and Rekha Hiremath, who is running the movement of self-help groups, who were present in this competition, were specially felicitated. Also, five women who are undergoing training to drive rickshaws were also felicitated by Rotary. Initially, Rotary President Alka Murali laid wreath on the bust of Martyr Hiraji Patil. After that, the students of Manivali School welcomed the players and guests who came for the Kabaddi tournament with the help of Lazim team.

The Sutarpada Kabaddi team from Kalamb won the Rotary Cup Kabaddi by defeating the Manivali team. Many of the officials of the Manivali villagers and the Manivali Martyrs Memorial Committee were present in the tournament. They included Vinod Gawli, Shashikant Patil, Dinesh Gawli, Manohar Dyer, Deepak Patil, Vaman Gawli, Manohar Khade, Gurunath Dyer, former Sarpanch Tushar. Gawli, Police Patil Savita Gaikar, Bharti Jadhav of Rotary Gramin, etc. were present. Ramchandra Gawli, Chandrakant Dire, Sudhir Jhanje, Atul Dire worked as referees for this competition.
