A planned base salary hike of 8% for government employees will put the monthly wages of police officers at VND8-26.2 million (US$304–997), excluding allowances.
The government plans to raise the base salary from VND2.34 million per month to VND2.53 million with effect from July 1.

The salaries of officials, civil servants, public employees, and the armed forces will all increase.
For a person in the rank of a general, it will rise from VND24.3 million to VND26.2 million.
A corporal’s income will increase from VND7.5 million to VND8 million.
For the police technical specialist group, the highest salary is expected to be VND19.5 million and the lowest, VND7.5 million.
