PM Modi released the 22nd installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi: Rs 2000 received in the accounts of more than 9.3 crore farmers.
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday released the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. Under this installment, an amount of more than Rs 18,640 crore has been sent directly to the bank accounts of more than 9.3 crore farmer families across the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Under this scheme, eligible farmers are given financial assistance of Rs 2,000 in each installment, which is directly transferred to their bank accounts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released this installment from Guwahati, Assam.
According to the government, this time about 9.32 crore farmer families have got its benefit. This amount has been sent directly to the accounts of the farmers, to help them meet their farming and domestic needs. The objective of PM-Kisan Scheme is to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, farmers are given a total assistance of Rs 6,000 every year, which is transferred directly to the bank account in three equal installments. The government believes that this amount received on time helps the farmers to meet their needs of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other agricultural needs.
After the installment is released, a message is sent by the government to the registered mobile number of the farmers. Apart from this, messages related to the transaction are also received from the bank. Farmers can easily check through the message received on their mobile whether the amount of 22nd installment has reached their account or not. If the amount does not reach the account of an eligible farmer, he can contact the helpline number of the scheme. Farmers can register their problems by calling 155261 or 011-24300606. This helpline service is available on working days from 9:30 am to 6 pm.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was started on 24 February 2019. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched this scheme from Gorakhpur. Since then till now this scheme is providing financial assistance to crores of farmers of the country. In this regard, recently Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that since the launch of the scheme in February 2019, an amount of more than Rs 4.09 lakh crore has been directly transferred to the accounts of farmers. After the release of the 22nd installment, this total amount will increase to more than Rs 4.27 lakh crore.
He also said that in this installment, more than 2.15 crore women farmers will also get financial assistance. According to him, this initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working to bring a permanent and positive change in the agriculture sector by providing direct income support to small and marginal farmers. The government believes that regular financial assistance strengthens the financial position of farmers and it becomes easier to meet the important needs related to farming on time.
