Shock to KKR fans, Harshit Rana out of IPL 2026
1
Kolkata: A bad news has come out for KKR fans. Their all-rounder Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the 2026 Indian Premier League season. The Delhi player was included in India’s T20 World Cup squad, but he had to miss the important tournament due to a knee injury during the warm-up match. Mohammad Siraj was included in his place, who took three wickets in the first match against America.
A big blow for KKR
Harshit’s injury has proved to be a serious blow for KKR, especially when he was expected to handle the death overs after Andre Russell’s retirement in the IPL. The participation of another important player, Mathisha Pathirana, who was bought for Rs 18 crore, is also doubtful now as he has also been ruled out of the T20 World Cup.
Questions on Pathirana’s fitness
KKR management has not yet given any official information about Pathirana’s fitness. This Sri Lankan fast bowler has suffered from many injuries in his career, due to which Chennai Super Kings had earlier released him. Additionally, Rana’s absence makes the situation of the Ajinkya Rahane-led team even more delicate.
