West Asia Crisis: US Air Force’s KC-135 refueling tanker plane crashes in western Iraq, four out of six crew members on board the plane killed

New Delhi. The US Air Force suffered a major setback on Friday amid the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. A KC-135 refueling aircraft of the US Army fell victim to an accident in western Iraq. During this time, there were a total of six crew members on board the plane, out of which four have died.

The Central Command of the US Army i.e. CENTCOM has also confirmed the death of the crew members. Posting on the social media platform X, CentCom said that four of the six crew members present on the KC-135 refueling aircraft (US KC-135) have died, while the search and rescue operation for two is ongoing. Centcom says the reasons behind the accident are being investigated. The investigation is still going on. More information will be shared if anything comes to light.

The US Army clarified that the plane crash was not caused by any enemy attack or friendly fire. That is, it is clear that according to initial information this accident is not related to any attack.

America’s KC-135 aircraft is a refueling aircraft. It is used to fuel other military aircraft in the sky. It is also called tanker aircraft. The use of these aircraft plays a very important role in long-range military operations. During war, military aircraft or fighter jets can remain in the sky for a long time without landing on the ground and can wreak havoc on the enemies.
