Landing at number 36 is warehouse (beef stew). The stew is believed to draw influences from both eastern and western culinary traditions.

Bo kho features diced beef and carrots simmered in a broth infused with spices such as lemongrass, cinnamon and shallots. The dish is often paired with a baguette or served over noodles.

At number 40 is bun bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup), a cornerstone of central Vietnamese cuisine. The dish is built on a foundation of pork and beef bone broth and seasoned with lemongrass and fermented shrimp paste.

Common additions include sliced brisket and crab balls.

The soup originated in the former imperial capital of Hue. Many historians believe the dish was shaped by the requirements of the imperial court.

Rounding out the list is Banh Bao (steamed buns), the Vietnamese adaptation of the Chinese baozi.

These buns feature a yeasted dough wrapped around a savory filling of ground pork, mushrooms, hard-boiled eggs, and Chinese sausage.

Taking the top spot in this year’s list is Turkey’s Kahvalti, a multi-course spread of cheeses, olives, eggs, and honey. It is followed by Libya’s sfinz (a fried pastry) and Serbia’s komplet lepinja, a cream-coated flatbread topped with an egg.
