Israel-Iran War: 6004 workers of UP safe in Israel, state government in touch with Israeli embassy

Lucknow, Read: The state government has said that the well-being of the state’s construction workers working in Israel is being constantly monitored and there is no situation of concern at present. Principal Secretary, Labor and Employment, Dr. MK Shanuga Sundaram said that a total of 6004 construction workers from Uttar Pradesh are working in various construction companies in Israel. These workers were selected through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Israel’s government agency PIBA (Population, Immigration and Border Authority) and were sent to Israel during the year 2024.

He told that all these workers are working regularly in different construction projects of Israel. The State Government is continuously monitoring their well-being and is in constant touch with the Government of India and the Indian Embassy in this regard.

India’s Ambassador to Israel JP Singh has also informed the state government that the situation is under control and the embassy is in constant touch with the workers. At present no worker has expressed concern about returning to India. The Embassy has also issued a 24-hour helpline and email facility for emergencies, through which Indian citizens can seek assistance.
