Thunderstorm and rain in many states between March 14 and 19, know the condition of these states including Delhi-NCR
Summer has just started establishing its foothold in the country, but at the same time the mood of the weather is changing. Now the period of strong winds along with rain, storm and thunder is about to begin. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that from March 14 to March 19, the weather will be quite turbulent in many parts of the country. The effect of rain and storm will be visible especially in North-West India, North-Eastern states, Central India and some eastern states.
During this time, winds can blow at a speed of 50-70 kilometers per hour, due to which people have been advised to be cautious. There is also a special alert for farmers because hailstorm and heavy rain can damage the crops. At the same time, severe heat or heat wave conditions still persist in some areas, which can become a cause of trouble for people.
What will happen in North-West India?
- The sky will be cloudy in Delhi on March 14. In the afternoon, light winds will blow at a speed of 10-15 km/hour.
- On March 15-16, there may be rain or snowfall with thunderstorms in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. There will be similar weather in Uttarakhand on March 14.
- There is a possibility of sporadic light rain, thunder and strong winds (30-50 km/hour) in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from 15 to 19 March.
- Strong winds along with light rain and thunder may occur in Uttar Pradesh on March 15 and 16.
- There may be light rain and thunder at some places in Rajasthan on March 13-14.
- There is a high possibility of strong winds (50-60 km/hr, gusts up to 70 km) in Uttarakhand on March 15-16.
- Hail may also occur at many places, like in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh and Himachal on March 15, and in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Eastern UP on March 15-16. Hail may also fall in Western UP on March 16.
Weather condition in North East India
- Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected in the northeastern states from March 13 to 19. Strong winds (30-50 km/hr) will blow in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura from March 13-15.
- There may be heavy rain or snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh from 13-16 March. Especially on March 13, there is a high possibility of very heavy rain/snowfall.
- Heavy rain may occur at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya from 13-15 March.
Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and surrounding areas
- There may be rain in Western Madhya Pradesh on March 15, East Madhya Pradesh on March 15-16
- There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in Vidarbha from March 14-17.
- Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand may receive moderate to heavy rains from March 15-17.
- Light to moderate rain, thunder and strong winds (30-50 km/hr) will occur in Bihar from March 15-18.
- Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will see rain from March 13-19, with higher chances of heavy rain on March 13 and 16.
What will happen in South India?
- Light to moderate rain, thunderstorm and strong winds (30-40 km/hr) may occur in Telangana from March 15-17.
- There may be rain and thundershowers over Kerala and Mahe on March 16-17, Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka on March 17, and coastal Andhra Pradesh on March 16-19.
- There is a possibility of light-moderate rain in Marathwada from 14-19 March and in Central Maharashtra from 15-17 March.
- Where is there danger of extreme heat and heat wave now?
- Heat is still in full swing in some areas: Himachal Pradesh may face severe heat wave on March 13-14.
- There is a heat wave warning in Odisha till March 13-14, in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Konkan, Saurashtra-Kutch till March 13, in Jharkhand till March 15.
- There will be hot and humid weather in coastal areas of Gujarat, Konkan-Goa and Kerala on March 13-14.
Overall, the weather is now showing both heat and rain-storm simultaneously. People should take caution while going out, especially to protect themselves from strong winds and hailstorm.
