This feature empowers the most ‘tech-savvy’ member of any household to become the ‘digital guard’ of their family. How does this remote disconnect feature work? (How it Works) To use this feature, you need to create a ‘Safety Circle’ within the Truecaller app: Admin Role: One family member will become the admin, who can add another 4 members (total 5 people) to this circle. Real-time alerts: As soon as any call on your family member’s phone comes that has been marked as ‘Scam’ or ‘Fraud’ by Truecaller, the admin will be alerted. You will immediately get a notification on your phone. Remote Call Hang-up: If the admin feels that the call is dangerous, he can remotely disconnect the call by pressing a button from his own phone. Status Monitoring: The admin will also be able to see whether the family member’s phone is on silent or how much battery is left, so that he can help in case of emergency. Android vs iPhone: What is the difference? This feature is available on both the platforms, But there is a slight difference in its functionality:For Android users: It works perfectly. Admin can hang up calls remotely and get real-time alerts. For iPhone users: Due to Apple’s privacy policies, it is not possible to hang up calls remotely on iPhone. However, iPhone users will get alerts and will be able to manage ‘Shared Block List’. Privacy is fully maintained. TrueCaller has clarified that there is no compromise on privacy in the ‘Family Protection’ feature: The administrator will not be able to see who the family member is talking to or what is written in the message. The alert will be triggered only if the call is from a ‘flagged scammer’ (suspected number). No information about normal calls will be shared with the administrator.
