New Delhi. Punjab Police has busted an ISI sponsored terrorist and cross border arms smuggling module in a major action in Amritsar. In this operation of Amritsar Rural Police, 2 accused have been arrested and one AK-47 rifle, 2 magazines, 36 live cartridges as well as 3 state-of-the-art Glock 9 mm pistols have been recovered from them. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that preliminary investigation has revealed that both the accused were in contact with smugglers sitting abroad through social media.

This module was also involved in spreading radicalization and spreading anti-India and anti-police views. An FIR has been registered at Gharinda Police Station, Amritsar Rural. A thorough investigation is underway to interrogate the arrested people to find out their other links and dismantle the entire network. The DGP said that Punjab Police India stands firm on its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, illegal arms smuggling and organized crime.
