LPG crisis will end, two huge ships coming to India with 46,000 metric tons of LPG; Will reach Mumbai in 48 hours
India LPG Tankers Cross Strait Of Hormuz: The rising war tensions between Iran and Israel have created a fuel and energy supply crisis throughout the world. Especially the ‘Strait of Hormuz’ Fears of the closure have affected global shipping. Amidst this severe tension, a very big and relief news has come out for India. Two important LPG tankers strengthening India’s energy security are ‘Nanda Devi’ and ‘Shivalik’ Has successfully and safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz.
Successful diplomacy and naval patrol
Indian LPG carrier ‘Nanda Devi’ Crossed this sensitive sea route and reached the open sea. This ship is loaded with 46,000 metric tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), which is very important for India’s domestic needs. Earlier ‘Shivalik’ The LPG tanker has also crossed this route safely.
The safe passage of these ships is considered to be the result of India’s successful diplomacy. Iran’s Foreign Ministry, after talks with India, had clarified that Indian ships would not be stopped. At present, the Indian Navy is closely monitoring the movement of these ships so that the energy supplies reach India safely.
When will the gas consignment reach?
According to government sources, these ships are now rapidly moving towards India under the guidance of the Indian Navy. There is every possibility of their reaching Mumbai or Kandla port within the next two days (48 hours). With the arrival of this consignment, the possible gas crisis in the country is expected to be averted. It is noteworthy that India is heavily dependent on Gulf countries for its LPG needs and even a minor disruption in the supply chain can cause a major crisis in the country as was recently seen in the shortage of LPG in cities like Bhopal.

Kandla Port becomes ‘troubleshooter’
Due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East, Kandla port of Gujarat has emerged as a major maritime hub. In view of the increasing threat in the Strait of Hormuz, about 22 ships are turning towards Kandla. Apart from this, India is in continuous diplomatic talks with Iran to ensure the safe movement of its other 28 ships. Experts believe that the safe arrival of these two ships is an indication that India has prepared an effective system to secure its energy supply.
