China’s women’s football team starts the Asian Cup with a win by defeating Bangladesh
Beijing: Defending champions China made a winning start by defeating Bangladesh 2-0 in their Group B match of the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup on March 3. In the other Group B match played that day, North Korea defeated Uzbekistan 3–0. China will face Uzbekistan on March 6.
This year’s Asian Women’s Cup is being held in Australia from March 1 to 21. In which 12 teams took part, which were divided into three groups. As per the tournament format, the top two teams from each group and the two best third placed teams will advance to the quarter-finals.
