Prashant Veer’s younger sister taught Tamil to her brother, video going viral

A video of young player Prashant Veer, who was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 14.20 crore, is going viral on social media, in which he is seen learning Tamil from his sister before the season. In this viral clip, Veer can be seen speaking a few Tamil sentences after receiving instructions from his sister via video message.

The five-time champions surprised many by spending Rs 14.20 crore on the 20-year-old all-rounder from Uttar Pradesh and now it will be up to Veer to do justice to the big price tag. If you do not know about Prashant Veer, then let us tell you that this young all-rounder from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh has caught everyone’s attention with his performance in Indian domestic cricket.

Veer is a left-arm orthodox spinner who also bats left-handed. His playing style is already being compared to Ravindra Jadeja. Interestingly, before IPL 2026, when Jadeja has moved to Rajasthan Royals and Sanju Samson has come to CSK under a trade deal, the fans are very excited to see how well Veer can fill Jadeja’s place.

Let us tell you that Veer had entered the IPL 2026 auction with a nominal base price of Rs 30 lakh, but the bidding soon gained momentum. Initially, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians showed interest in him, but when the price crossed Rs 4 crore, CSK and Rajasthan Royals also joined the race. As prices kept rising, Rajasthan finally backed out after bidding for Rs 6 crore. However, CSK eventually bought him for Rs 14.20 crore, making Veer one of the most expensive uncapped players in the history of IPL.
