“Now Delhi will not drown!”—CM Rekha Gupta starts drainage remodeling project; Masterplan ready to eliminate waterlogging before monsoon
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday (March 14) inaugurated several important development projects in Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency. During this, he also conducted a surprise inspection of the ongoing work in the area and instructed the officers to ensure quality and timely completion of the work. He said that this work will reduce the problem of waterlogging during rainy season and the roads and surrounding infrastructure will also be strengthened.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the remodeling work of storm water drain on Haiderpur Main Road (from Bus Stand to DA Block, Shalimar Bagh). This work is being done under the New Master Drain Plan 2025, in which the drainage system of the area will be improved by making RCC drains. During this, the CM took stock of the progress of many works related to infrastructure development, drainage system and public facilities. He said that drainage improvement works were also started on Road No. 319, RUB Shalimar Bagh, Chaudhary Mehar Chand Marg, Road No. 320 and Swami Shraddhanand Saraswati Marg.
Passengers will get the facility of safe transportation
The CM also initiated the work of construction of slip road and development of U-turn around RUB to streamline the traffic system at Shalimar Chowk. This initiative will reduce the traffic pressure in the area and provide better and safe transportation facilities to local residents and travelers.
Inauguration of Ayushman Arogya Mandir
Along with this, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also inaugurated Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Sahipur village Chaupal. This center will play an important role in providing primary health services to the residents of the area and will provide access to better health facilities at the local level. Apart from this, he also taught Bhagwan Mahavir Marg and K. l. Also inaugurated the remodeling work of the existing storm water drain on Bagga Marg. Under this project, precast factory made RCC drain will be constructed, which will be in accordance with the New Master Drain Plan 2025. With this work, the drainage system in the area will be more effective and the problems occurring during rains will be reduced.
Surprise inspection of road widening work
Along with the inauguration of these projects, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also conducted a surprise inspection of the ongoing road widening and drainage improvement works at Singalpur Labor Chowk in Shalimar Bagh. During the inspection, he took detailed information about the progress of the work from the officials present on the spot and directed that quality, transparency and timeliness should be ensured in the development works. He also said that along with road widening, construction of a strong drainage system is very important so that a permanent solution can be found to the problem of waterlogging in the area.
The Chief Minister directed the officials that during the construction works, special care should be taken for the convenience of the local residents and the works should be completed within the stipulated time limit. He said that the Delhi government is committed to strengthening roads, drainage, traffic and health facilities in every area of the capital. The government aims to provide better living facilities to the citizens by strengthening the infrastructure in every area of Delhi.
