Harshit Rana may be out of IPL 2026, big blow to Kolkata Knight Riders, replacement taken from Blessing Muzarabani
New Delhi. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have to face significant difficulties before IPL 2026. Team’s fast bowler Harshit Rana may be out of the upcoming season due to knee injury (injury prior to the T20 World Cup). Harshit’s injury occurred before the T20 World Cup and he is not yet fully fit after the surgery performed in February 2026.
According to reports, Harshit may miss a large part or the entire IPL 2026 season due to surgery and rehabilitation. Rana was one of the key bowlers for KKR last season and his absence could deal a blow to the team’s bowling lineup.
complete injury case
Harshit Rana suffered a knee injury in the warm-up match against South Africa just a day before the T20 World Cup. He felt pain while bowling and bowled only one over. After medical examination it was confirmed that he would not be able to participate in the tournament.
KKR took replacement from Blessing Muzarabani
Three-time champion KKR included Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani in the squad ahead of IPL 2026. Muzarabani has withdrawn from the Pakistan Super League and was among the top performing bowlers in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, taking 13 wickets.
KKR statement said
We have signed Blessing Muzarabani for IPL 2026. The six feet eight inches tall right-arm fast bowler is famous for his fast bounce and his ability to take wickets in crucial parts of the innings.
Muzarabani has played more than 80 T20 International matches and has taken more than 90 wickets at an average of around 21. His best performance has been three wickets for eight runs. This move will help KKR build a strong bowling unit in the absence of Harshit Rana.
