Former BJP MLA Yadvendra Singh passes away

Satna. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former MLA Yadvendra Singh passed away at the age of 73. He was ill recently and was undergoing treatment in a big private hospital in Bhopal. He breathed his last during treatment in the hospital on Saturday, March 14. As soon as the news of his death was received, there was a wave of mourning among the party workers. His mortal remains will reach his home village Kachnar, district Satna by night, where his last rites will be performed on Sunday.

History of Nagaud Assembly Seat

Yadvendra Singh has been a former MLA from Nagaud assembly constituency. He won the MLA election in the year 2013 on Congress Party ticket. Later, upset over being denied the ticket, he decided to join BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He was known as a true mass leader in Nagaud Assembly.

Along with BJP leaders, Congress leader Ajay Singh has also expressed grief over the demise of Yadvendra Singh. Congress had canceled his ticket for the 2023 assembly elections, as a result of which he joined BSP and contested the elections from there. Due to Yadvendra Singh’s electoral participation, Congress had to be content with third place. He started a new political chapter by joining BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In Yadvendra Singh’s family, his daughter-in-law Pratibha Yatendra Singh is the president of Municipal Council Nagaud, while his son Yatendra Singh has previously been a District Panchayat member. Yadvendra Singh’s activism and struggle earned him an important position in his field.
