IPL 2026: Why did Jaipur not get the home match of Rajasthan Royals? Questions raised on schedule; Know what is the reason

IPL 2026 Schedule, Why Rajasthan Royals not playing in Jaipur: As soon as the schedule of the initial matches of IPL 2026 came out, a big question has arisen. This time Rajasthan Royals team will not be seen playing in its traditional home ground Jaipur. Fans have been surprised to see the venues of the team’s matches in the schedule of the first 20 matches.

Actually, in the initial schedule released, 4 matches of Rajasthan Royals have been fixed, out of which 3 matches will be played in Guwahati, while one match will be held in Ahmedabad. In such a situation, the question is being raised that why Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium was not made the home ground of the team this time. The Assam connection behind this is definitely being discussed, but the story is not just that.

IPL 2026: Royals schedule and what is the reason

In IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals will play their first match against Chennai Super Kings on March 30 and this match will be held in Guwahati, while on April 7, the team will play its home matches against Mumbai Indians and on April 10 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on the same ground, while on April 4, there will be a match against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.

IPL 2026: Turmoil in RCA

The biggest reason for the match not being held in Jaipur is believed to be the internal situation of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). Elections have not been held in RCA for the last two years and at present only an ad-hoc committee is running the association.

BCCI has already warned RCA several times to conduct the elections on time. The board had clearly said that if elections were not held as per the Constitution, then IPL matches would be snatched from Jaipur. In the current situation, elections have not been held yet and that is why Jaipur has been kept out of the initial schedule.

IPL 2026: The condition of the stadium also became a big reason

The condition of Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium is also said to be an important reason. According to reports, the last major renovation of this stadium took place in the year 2006 and since then there has been no major upgradation in it.

For such a big tournament, it is very important to have better security and facilities. Rajasthan Royals had expressed their concerns several times to RCA and BCCI regarding the management of huge crowd coming to the stadium and modern facilities.

IPL 2026: What will be the decision next?

Currently, Rajasthan Royals have planned to make Guwahati their main home venue for this season. However, the complete schedule of IPL 2026 is yet to be released, so it is not clear whether the remaining matches of the team will also be played in Guwahati or on some other ground.

If a solution is found in the coming days regarding the RCA elections and the stadium situation, then Jaipur may get the last chance. But for now, Rajasthan Royals fans may have to wait to see their team play on home ground.
