Woman booked bike, driver started teasing her on the way; ran away after threatening

A horrifying incident has taken place in the country’s capital New Delhi, where an Uber rider molested a woman in broad daylight. According to the victim’s allegation, shortly after sitting on the bike, the bike driver tried to touch her inappropriately. Upon protesting, the driver increased the speed of the bike. This scared the woman even more. However, based on the complaint of the victim, the police has started investigation.

 

This incident is very worrying, because in today’s time many women rely on cab drivers and bike riders to go home from their offices late at night. But this incident has not only worried women but has also raised questions on the security policy of the companies.

 

According to the victim, this incident happened at 1:28 pm on Thursday. When the woman had booked an Uber bike from Rohini Sector-15 to go to MP Block Market of Pitampura. According to the victim woman, the name of the accused bike rider is Sachin.

The woman raised an alarm, then the accused ran away

The victim has alleged that shortly after sitting on the bike, the driver deliberately started applying brakes repeatedly. After this he also touched her inappropriately. When the victim protested against his actions, the driver increased the speed of the bike. Frightened, the woman tried to jump from the bike. Then the bike rider stopped him from behind. After this he allegedly threatened the woman. When the woman raised an alarm, the accused bike driver dropped the victim near Pitampura area and ran away.

After the incident, the local people gave water to the scared woman and assured her of help. After this the woman informed the police about the entire matter over phone. Police has started the investigation of the matter.
