Killer arrested within 24 hours in the case of murder of 12 year old boy under Pannuganj police station area.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma, in the ongoing campaign against crime and criminals, SOG and police station Pannuganj took prompt and effective action and successfully exposed the incident of murder of a 12-year-old boy within 24 hours and arrested one of the accused.

On the night of 14.03.2026, between 20:15 and 20:30 hours, information was received regarding the murder of a child in Ramgarh town under Pannuganj police station area. On receiving the information, Pannuganj police station and senior officials immediately reached the spot, inspected the spot and conducted necessary investigation/inquiry.

During interrogation, plaintiff Shiv Murat Gupta, son of Tapeshwari, resident of town Ramgarh, police station Pannuganj, district Sonbhadra, told that his grandson Aryan Gupta, son of Raju Gupta, aged about 12 years, and Raj Chauhan, son of Vinod Chauhan, were returning home after playing.

Meanwhile, in a planned ambush on the way, Diwakar Gupta, son of Gulab Gupta, resident of Kasari Post, Ramgarh police station, Pannuganj, aged about 20 years, was hiding, whom the children could not see, when the children started going ahead, he came from behind, caught both the children in the dark and took them away and his grandson Aryan Gupta killed the above mentioned person by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon.

On the basis of the complaint received, a case under IPC 48/2026 Section 61(2), 103(1) BNS was registered at Police Station Pannuganj and a total of four teams of police and SOG were formed to arrest the accused.

Acting promptly, the police team formed under the instructions of Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma, accused Diwakar Gupta, son of Gulab Gupta, resident of Kasari police station Pannuganj, district Sonbhadra, aged about 20 years, was arrested with a cutting knife on Sunday, 15.03.2026 at 13.05 hours near Pakarhat Canal Pulia Raki village. Advance legal action is being taken against the accused.

On interrogating the arrested accused, he told that there was a dispute going on for a long time between him and the plaintiff regarding the division of the house. According to the accused, there was a situation of tension in the family of the deceased due to the fear that his mother was practicing witchcraft.

Besides, regarding the incident of burning to death of the accused’s brother about 15 years ago, there was a suspicion in his mind that the plaintiff party might have a hand in the said incident. Angered by these things, the accused is said to have carried out the above incident.

The arresting police team mainly included Inspector-in-charge Kumud Shekhar Singh of Pannuganj police station, Police Inspector Rajesh G Chaubey SOG and surveillance in-charge of Sonbhadra district, Head Constable Sushil Singh, CO Omprakash Yadav, CO Satish Singh Patel, CO Ritesh Singh Patel, CO Ajit Kumar, CO Driver Ajit Yadav SOG team.
