According to the opinion poll of IANS-Materize, the lotus is predicted to bloom once again in Assam, while the people of the state have not expressed confidence in the country’s oldest party, Congress. According to this poll, BJP can capture power in Assam with a huge majority.

How many seats can Congress get?

According to the opinion poll, out of 126 assembly seats in Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance is expected to get 96-98 seats. At the same time, the Congress alliance is estimated to get 26 to 28 seats. Apart from this, others may get 2 to 8 seats. If we look at the vote share, according to the opinion poll of IANS-Materize, the NDA is expected to get 43 to 44 percent vote share, while the Congress alliance is expected to get 39-40 percent vote share and others are expected to get 18-20 percent vote share.

How many total voters in the state?

The tenure of the 15th Assam Assembly is ending on 20 May 2026, before which it is mandatory to hold elections. There are total 2.5 crore votes in Assam. Of these, 1.25 crore are male and 1.25 crore are female voters. At the same time, the number of third gender voters is 343. If we talk about first-time voters (18-19 years), their number is 5.75 lakh.
