Sonbhadra Police got a big success, Bunty with a reward of ₹ 25,000 arrested, heroin worth lakhs recovered

In the ongoing campaign against drugs under the able direction of Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma, under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Anil Kumar and close supervision of Area Officer City Randhir Mishra, on 14.03.2026, the joint team of SOG and Police Station Robertsganj has achieved an important success.

During the said action, the police team registered FIR No. 06/2026 Section 103(1), 140(1), 238 BNS and FIR No. 139/2026 Section 8/21/27A NDPS Act registered at local police station from Bahad village Gorari police station Robertsganj district Sonbhadra. Related wanted accused Prateek Kumar alias Bunty, son of Awadhesh Kumar, resident of Jait police station, Robertsganj district, Sonbhadra, aged about 21 years, carrying a reward of ₹ 25,000/-, was arrested.

During the search, 22 grams of illegal heroin (estimated value around ₹ 2,20,000) was recovered from the possession of the accused. On the basis of arrest and recovery, necessary legal action is being taken against the accused by registering FIR No. 206/2026 Section 8/21 NDPS Act at Robertsganj police station.

The arresting police team mainly included inspector in-charge Ram Swaroop Verma, police station Robertsganj, SHO Rajesh Ji Choubey SOG and surveillance in-charge district Sonbhadra, SHO Dharmanarayan Bhargava, outpost in-charge New Bazaar police station Robertsganj, SHO Ranjeet Singh, SHO Ramjit Sharma, SHO Vinod Bharti, SHO Satish Singh Patel, SHO Ritesh Singh Patel, SHO Ajit Kumar, driver Ajit Yadav were included in SOG team.
