Dhurandhar 2 in controversy before release, Sikh community sent legal notice to Ranveer Singh’s film
Tezzbuzz Desk – Ranveer Singh’s much awaited film Dhurandhar 2 is being awaited with great enthusiasm all over the world. After the great response to the first part, the audience now has big expectations from the second part. The film is set to release in theaters on March 19, 2026.
But just 4 days before its release, the film has landed in controversy. The Sikh community has expressed dissatisfaction with some scenes in the film and a legal notice has been issued against it.
Who issued the notice and why?
Social activist Vicky Thomas Singh sent a notice to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from Maharashtra. In this, allegations have been made against the film’s director, producer and Ranveer Singh for hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community.
The notice states that consumption of tobacco and smoking is strictly prohibited in Sikhism, and showing such scenes in the film is against religious sentiments. The complainant has demanded removal of all smoking scenes, trailers and posters of the film. Apart from this, an appeal has also been made to the makers to tender a collective apology to the Sikh community.
Opening Day Expectations
Dhurandhar 2 is getting good response from paid previews and advance booking even before its release. The eyes of the audience are especially on the double avatar of Ranveer Singh. Although this time Akshay Khanna is not in the film, but like the first part, the film can earn well on the opening day.
