6 Upcoming JSW MG Motor India Cars: Majestor to Starlight
The British automaker MG Motor India, which is now majorly owned by Sajjan Jindal-led JSW Group, is planning to launch a bunch of new vehicles in India to expand its lineup. What makes it even more interesting is that JSW MG Motor India is planning to launch only SUVs in the foreseeable future, as SUVs have the highest demand in India. Now, if you want to know which new SUVs are on the launch cards of MG, then you have come to the right spot.
MG Majestor
The first new SUV to be launched in India by JSW MG Motor India is the Majestor full-size ladder-frame SUV. MG is calling it the first D+ segment SUV and has highlighted that it will be one of the most luxurious and capable off-roader full-size SUVs in India. It will be officially launched in April, and its deliveries will commence from May 2026.
Pricing-wise, the MG Majestor will be priced in the range of Rs 40 to 50 lakh and will directly go head-to-head with the Toyota Fortuner and the Jeep Meridian in India. MG has given the Majestor an imposing exterior design with a larger rectangular grille, split headlight and DRL setup, aggressive front and rear bumpers, and many others.
Powering the Majestor will be a 2.0-litre twin-turbo petrol engine which will make 215 PS and 478 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, it will get an 8-speed automatic gearbox. What will make it special is its advanced 4WD system. It will come equipped with triple differential locks, crawl mode, 10 terrain modes, 219 mm ground clearance, and an impressive 810 mm water-wading capacity. It will also get ADAS Level 2 and many other safety features.
MG 520 (Wuling Starlight 560-based) plug-in hybrid SUV

JSW MG Motor India is planning to become the first automaker to launch a plug-in hybrid SUV by October 2026. The main highlight of the MG 520 plug-in hybrid SUV will be its 1.5-litre petrol engine, which will come equipped with an electric motor on the front. There will also be a 20.5 kWh battery pack, and in total it will make 197 bhp and 230 Nm of torque.
In electric mode, it will be capable of driving 100 km. As for the design, it will get eye-style LED DRLs and LED headlights, a larger front grille, and an aggressive front bumper, and on the sides it will come with a set of large alloy wheels and chunky cladding. On the inside, the MG 520 will boast a 12.8-inch infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.
MG IM6 electric SUV

Third on this list, and the third product which will be sold via the MG Select premium dealerships, will be the IM6 electric SUV. This SUV, which is currently sold internationally, is a direct rival of the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 GT, and the BYD Sealion 7. It is expected to be priced around Rs 60 lakh and might make its debut by the festive season of this year.
In terms of design, the MG IM6 electric SUV will boast a very beautiful and sleek design which looks very premium. It will be offered with a single battery pack option of 100 kWh, which in the RWD configuration will offer 555 km of range and in the AWD layout offer 505 km.
As for the power, the former will make 408 bhp and 500 Nm, and in the latter it will make 778 bhp and 802 Nm of torque. Inside, it will come loaded with a 26.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.5-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, vegan leather, and many others.
MG ZS EV replacement

Later this year or by 2027, MG will be launching the ZS EV replacement. This time around, this SUV will be based on the SIGMA (SAIC Intelligent Global Modular Architecture) platform. This modular platform, along with EV powertrain, will also be able to accommodate ICE, hybrid, and strong hybrid powertrain options.
It is believed that the MG ZS EV replacement will be offered with two battery pack options of 49 kWh and 64 kWh, offering a maximum range of 500 km on a single full charge. This EV SUV will most likely be launched in the range of Rs 15–25 lakh and will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Harrier.ev, and others.
MG Astor replacement

MG India, in addition to the launch of the ZS EV replacement, will also be launching the Astor mid-size SUV replacement as well. Currently, the sales of the MG Astor have slumped a lot due to increasing competition from new launches such as the Tata Sierra, new Kia Seltos, upcoming Skoda Kushaq, and many others.
The Astor replacement will also be based on the SAIC SIGMA architecture and will be launched by early 2027. Pricing is expected to start at Rs 12 lakh and go up to Rs 20 lakh. This time around, the design of the Astor replacement will be much more modern and premium and will come equipped with a ton of features.
MG Binguo EV

Last but not the least, MG Motor India aims to rival the Tata Tiago.ev with its Wuling Binguo EV-based electric hatchback. This new vehicle is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 8–12 lakh. Reports have highlighted that it could be making its debut by the end of this year. However, MG has not confirmed the launch timeline of this EV hatchback.
Internationally, the Wuling Binguo EV, on which the MG electric hatchback will be based, is offered with three battery pack options: 17.3 kWh (203 km), 31.9 kWh (333 km), and 37.9 kWh (410 km). As for the motors, it is offered with a 30 kW and a 50 kW motor.
