Honored at BAFTA Awards
‘Boong’ won the Best Children and Family Film award at the BAFTA Awards in February 2026. It is the first Indian film to win a BAFTA Award in this category. Director Lakshmipriya appealed for peace in Manipur in her speech, which made the audience emotional.
Earlier, the film was slated for a limited release in September 2025, but after winning the BAFTA, Farhan Akhtar announced its wide re-release on March 6.
