In January, when Dayal was granted anticipatory bail, Pundir celebrated the decision on social media. Dayal is accused of sexual harassment in two separate cases. A woman from Ghaziabad has alleged that Dayal exploited her emotionally and physically for five years on the pretext of marriage. Following her complaint, he was accused of rape.

Apart from this, he is also accused of allegedly raping a minor girl in Jaipur. The girl, who wanted to become a cricketer, claimed that Dayal had promised to help her in her career and then forced himself on her when she was 17 years old. The incident reportedly took place in 2023, after which an FIR was registered at Sanganer Sadar Police Station in Jaipur. Earlier in January, Dayal had received interim protection from the Rajasthan High Court in a sexual assault case involving a minor. The POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act) court had rejected his anticipatory bail plea, after which he filed a separate petition in the High Court.

Yash Dayal retained by RCB

Before last year’s auction, Dayal was one of the players retained by RCB for Rs 5 crore. This left-arm fast bowler made his IPL debut with Gujarat Titans in 2022, and won the IPL title with the team in the same year. In 2023, he came into limelight when Rinku Singh led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to victory by hitting five sixes in a single over. In 2024, RCB signed him and he has been with the team since then. In the same year, the fast bowler was called up to the Indian national team for the first time for the home Test series against Bangladesh, although he is yet to make his international debut.
