North Zone won the title of IDCA 7th ODI National Zonal Deaf Cricket Championship
Indore. The 7th ODI National Zonal Deaf Cricket Championship organized by the Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) concluded on Sunday in Indore, in which North Zone won the title after thrilling matches, while South Zone finished as the runner-up. Deaf male teams from five zones of the country took part in the competition.
In the final match, North Zone batted first and scored 120 runs in 24.1 overs. Kuldeep Singh played an important inning of 31 runs for the team. From South Zone, Yashwant Naidu bowled brilliantly and took five wickets.
Chasing the target, South Zone won the match by scoring 127 runs at the loss of six wickets in 25.5 overs. Vaibhav played an important inning of 42 runs in the team’s victory, while Rohit Saini made an important contribution in bowling by taking five wickets.
In other matches of the championship, Central Zone defeated East Zone by 55 runs. Batting first, Central Zone scored 187 runs for five wickets in 20 overs, in which Viraj Kolte played a brilliant inning of 50 runs in 30 balls. In reply, East Zone team was all out for 132 runs in 18.1 overs. Sanju Sharma played a key role in Central Zone’s victory by taking three wickets, while Santosh Kumar Mohapatra scored 34 runs.

Man of the Match: Vivek Kumar (North Zone), Aman Chowksey (Central Zone)
Best Batsman: Abhishek Singh (East Zone)
Best Bowler: Vivek Kumar (North Zone)
Player of the Series: Vivek Kumar (North Zone)
In the closing ceremony, chief guest Dr. Atul Malikram presented the trophy to the winning team, while special guest Rakhal Kumar Sethi honored the runner-up team.
IDCA President Sumit Jain said that this championship has highlighted the talent of deaf cricketers and their dedication towards the game. He said that such events provide opportunities to especially capable players to progress at the national and international level.
This competition was organized at The Emerald Heights International School, Indore from 11 to 15 March 2026, in which deaf cricketers from across the country performed excellently.
