BCCI Naman Awards 2026: T20 World Cup hero Sanju Samson said – India will rule cricket for a long time…will win trophies again and again

New Delhi: Indian cricket team’s star opener and T20 World Cup 2026 Player of the Tournament Sanju Samson has expressed confidence that India will continue to dominate ICC tournaments in the coming years. During the BCCI Naman Awards held on March 15, 2026 in New Delhi, Samson said that India is on the way to winning many ICC titles because of the emerging talent in the country.

India won the title in T20 World Cup 2026, where Samson made a brilliant comeback. Despite being left out of the team initially, he scored 321 runs in just 5 innings, with the strike rate being around 200. In the knockout stage he scored an unbeaten 97 against West Indies, 89 against England and also 89 against New Zealand in the final. A total of 275 runs came in these three innings with a strike rate of 199, which earned him the Player of the Tournament award.

Samson described this victory as the most special moment of his career. He said, “As soon as you wake up in the morning, you wonder whether this really happened? But considering the quality of our country’s players, this will be repeated again and again in the coming years. Not once or twice, but continuously. Looking at the number of emerging players, it is certain that India will win ICC trophies more often.”

India has won several ICC titles in recent years, such as the U19 World Cup (men and women), Women’s ODI World Cup, Champions Trophy and now the T20 World Cup. Samson believes that the team’s depth and new talent will make it stronger. Referring to the ups and downs of his career, he said that the team gave him the opportunity at the right time and the focus was always on the needs of the team and not just on individual performance.

This prediction of Samson is encouraging for Indian cricket fans, which seems quite realistic considering the team’s current form and young talent pool. Will India really rule world cricket? Time will tell, but with performers like Samson, the future looks bright.
