Kashmir and Ladakh failed in front of ‘Mini Switzerland’ of Rajasthan, tourists coming from far and wide are getting ‘snow’ vibe.

Rajasthan The summer season has just started. Strong sunshine and hot winds are blowing in many areas of Delhi, UP, Mumbai and Rajasthan. But there is a place in this Rajasthan where people are getting coolness and peace. This place is a special snow yard located in Kishangarh of Ajmer district. No real snow actually falls here, because snowfall in Rajasthan is very far away. Still, there is a white-spotted view all around here, which looks exactly like snow-capped mountains. People are surprised to see it and many have named it “Mini Switzerland”, ‘Switzerland of Rajasthan’ or ‘Snow Yard’. Some people say that even Switzerland pales in comparison to it.

How did this white scene come to be?

Actually Kishangarh is a very big marble city of Rajasthan. There are hundreds of factories here where marble is cut, carved and polished. During this work, a lot of white dust and wet slurry (fine powdery dirt of marble mixed with water) is released. Earlier this slurry was thrown here and there on the roads or in the fields, due to which pollution was spreading a lot. Then Kishangarh Marble Association took this problem seriously. He built a special dumping yard on about 500 acres of land. All the factories and tankers were strictly told to bring all the slurry here and dump it here. With time this slurry dried, solidified and formed high white mounds and mountain-like heaps. Small ponds of water were also formed in between. All this shines in the sunlight and when seen from a distance, it looks exactly like a snowy field or glacier. Gates, decorations and paths have also been built around, so that this place becomes attractive for tourists. The Pollution Department and NGT (National Green Tribunal) have examined it several times and have approved it cleanly.

What are people saying?

Tourists are coming here from far and wide, especially from Jaipur, Delhi and surrounding cities. This place has become very popular for pre-wedding shoots, photoshoots, Instagram reels and video making. A female tourist said, ‘Coming here, it feels as if Switzerland has also accepted defeat. One could enjoy Kashmir or Ladakh while sitting in Jaipur. Snow like atmosphere even in March! Felt very wonderful. Many people are calling it ‘Mini Kashmir’, ‘Moonland of Rajasthan’. This is a perfect spot for photographers and content creators. When the sun sets, golden light falls on the white mounds, making the view even more magical.

But caution is also necessary

This place is made of marble dust, which contains small particles of silica. Doctors, especially lung experts, say that this dust can be harmful for the lungs. Staying without protection for a long time can cause shortness of breath, cough or more serious problems in the long run. If you want to go here, be sure to wear an N95 mask or a better respirator.

  • Wear goggles and long sleeve clothes to avoid dust
  • People with asthma or respiratory disease should take more caution or consult a doctor
  • Do not leave children and elderly people for too long
