Yoga festival begins
Uttarakhand: The International Yoga Festival 2026 has started in the premises of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam in Muniki Reti near the pilgrimage city Rishikesh. This festival will continue till March 22, in which yoga practitioners not only from India but also from abroad have come to participate. On this occasion, all the participants will be introduced to the culture of Uttarakhand and they will also be made to taste local products.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the festival as the chief guest. He said that this region is continuously gaining recognition as the international yoga capital. Due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yoga has gained a special place at the global level. Muniki Reti is now seen as an emerging city on the world map.

CM Dhami also informed that artists from different states have also come for cultural presentations in this festival. He said that the government is also working on the development of Ganga Corridor and Economic City.
To maintain the cleanliness of Ganga, the number of sewerage treatment plants is being increased. He congratulated the people of the state and yoga practitioners for this International Yoga Festival and said that this festival will become an unforgettable experience.
Cabinet Ministers Subodh Uniyal and Satpal Maharaj said that the objective of organizing Yoga Mahotsav every year is that people should include yoga in their daily routine and stay healthy. Adopting Yoga not only makes the body healthy, but it also provides good employment opportunities for Indian Yogacharyas in foreign countries.
