‘Support on crutches, sad face’, Harshit Rana’s bad condition before IPL 2026; Video went viral

IPL 2026: A matter of great concern has come to light for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before IPL 2026. The injury of the team’s young fast bowler Harshit Rana has troubled both the fans and the team management. Recently a video has gone viral, in which Harshit is seen walking with the help of crutches. It seems that he may be out of the entire season.

Injury increased KKR’s tension

Harshit Rana has been suffering from a knee injury for the last few months. He was selected in Team India for the T20 World Cup 2026, but was ruled out due to injury in the warm-up match. Mohammad Siraj was taken in the team in his place. It was expected that after the surgery he would be fit for the IPL, but it did not happen.

He had knee surgery on 9 February in Mumbai. Doctors had said that recovery may take 2-3 months, but now even in the middle of March, his condition is such that he is not able to walk properly.

Viral video at BCCI Naman Awards

BCCI Naman Awards was organized in Mumbai on Sunday. Harshit also reached there, where he was to receive the Best International Debut award, but in the video he was seen walking with the help of crutches. When he could not get up to go on stage, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal himself went and honored him.

This video spread rapidly on social media and KKR’s concerns increased further. According to reports, Harshit is now out of IPL 2026. His recovery is not complete yet and he has not even been able to start bowling.

Big impact on KKR’s pace attack

KKR has already released Mustafizur Rahman. Blessing Muzarabani has been included in his place. Now if Harshit remains out of the entire season, then the fast bowling department of the team will become very weak.

Harshit was an important bowler for KKR last season and had a big contribution in the success of the team. The team may now have to look for a stronger replacement.

KKR’s first match in IPL 2026

IPL 2026 is starting from 28th March. The first match will be between defending champion RCB and SRH. KKR will play its first match against Mumbai Indians on March 29 at Wankhede Stadium. After that on April 2 they will face SRH. The team needs fit players for a strong start, but Harshit’s absence could prove to be a big blow.
