Pakistan cricket’s shameful defeat: Bangladesh created history by winning the one-day series.

Mirpur, 16 March 2026: There has been an earthquake in Pakistan cricket after the crushing defeat in the one-day series against Bangladesh. In the third and decisive match played in Mirpur, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 11 runs and won the series 2-1. After this defeat, former Pakistan wicketkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal has attacked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the performance of the team.

Expressing concern over the deteriorating condition of the Pakistan team, Kamran Akmal said, “The condition of the team has become so bad that now even a team like Netherlands would like to play and win against Pakistan.” Taking a dig at PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, he sarcastically asked, “If the team cannot win the match on the field, will you now steal the ICC trophy and bring it home?”

In the decisive match, Salman Ali Aga gave a brilliant fight for the Pakistani team which was chasing the target of 291 runs. He scored 106 runs in 98 balls, which was the third century of his one-day career. However, due to poor cooperation from other batsmen, the entire Pakistan team was all out after scoring 279 runs in the last ball. Earlier, after winning the toss and batting, Bangladesh made a strong score of 290 runs after losing 5 wickets in 50 overs. For Bangladesh, Tanjeed Hasan scored the first ODI century of his career (107 runs). Apart from this, Liton Das made an important contribution of 41 runs.

Bowlers also played an important role in Bangladesh’s victory. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed shook the core of Pakistani batting line-up and took 4 important wickets. Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana also prevented Pakistan from reaching the target by taking valuable wickets. Pakistan had given opportunity to many young players in this series, but the performance of the team was very disappointing. The habit of losing early wickets quickly is costing Pakistan dearly. Now, before the next big tournament, Pakistan Cricket Board and team management will have to ponder over this defeat, otherwise Pakistan’s cricket may suffer further defeat at the global level.
