Stoves will burn in 32 lakh houses! Indian LPG tanker crossed the strait and reached Mundra port in Gujarat, another ship will arrive tomorrow
New Delhi: Due to the ongoing tension between America and Iran in West Asia, it had become difficult for ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Ships of many countries got stuck, but two LPG tankers of India were allowed to pass safely. The first of these ships, ‘Shivalik’, has reached Mundra port in Gujarat today on 16th March. This news is a big relief for the people suffering from shortage of LPG gas in the country.
Successful journey of Shivalik ship
About 46 thousand metric tons of LPG gas is loaded in the Shivalik ship. This quantity is equivalent to approximately 32-35 lakh domestic cylinders. The ship had come loaded from Qatar and got stuck in the Strait of Hormuz. After getting passage from Iran on March 14, it reached India safely. Anchor was dropped at Mundra Port at around 5 pm. Now unloading of gas will start from here, which is expected to reduce the shortage of cylinders in the country.

Describing India as a friend, Iran said that Hormuz is open to everyone except its enemies. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Shipping Ministry confirmed this. The Indian Navy also helped in the security of the ships.
Nanda Devi ship will reach tomorrow
After Shivalik, the second ship ‘Nanda Devi’ has also crossed Hormuz. About 46 thousand metric tons of LPG is loaded in it also. This ship is expected to reach Kandla port in Gujarat tomorrow on 17th March. The Indian Navy is escorting it so that there is no danger. In total, more than 92 thousand tonnes of gas will come from both the ships, which is very important for domestic use.
Complaints about shortage of LPG cylinders had increased in the country in the last few days. In such a situation, the arrival of these ships will provide timely relief. The government has also tried to make way for other ships by talking to Iran. Overall, it is a diplomatic success that India is getting fuel even in the midst of war. Now it is expected that soon the availability of gas in the market will become normal.
