Adequate supply of LPG, petrol and diesel in Bihar, instructions for strict action against black marketing

Regarding the availability of fuel and gas in Bihar, the government has clarified that the supply of LPG, petrol, diesel and PNG in the state is completely normal. There is no shortage of any kind and the supply continues uninterrupted. This information was given in a high level review meeting chaired by State Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit.

Representatives of major oil and gas companies attended this meeting, while all the District Magistrates (DM) and Superintendents of Police (SP) of the state joined through video conferencing. The main objective of the meeting was to review the availability of fuel and gas and prepare a strategy to deal with any possible crisis.

Appeal to the public not to pay attention to rumors

During the meeting, an appeal was made to the common people not to believe any kind of misleading news and not to panic and store gas or fuel unnecessarily. The government says that there is sufficient stock available in the state and regular supply is going on, so there is no need to panic.

Companies gave assurance of adequate reserves

In the meeting, Indian Oil Corporation Executive Director (Bihar-Jharkhand) Anup Kumar and representatives of other petroleum companies assured that there are sufficient reserves of fuel and gas in the state. He said that about 98.5 percent of the state’s total gas supply is from domestic LPG cylinders and their supply is continuing.

Commercial gas supply currently limited

It was also told in the meeting that as a precaution, the supply of commercial gas has been limited at present. However, hospitals and educational institutions have been completely exempted from this restriction. The objective of the government is to ensure that there is no impact on the availability of gas in public service institutions.

Strict instructions on black marketing and hoarding

The Chief Secretary has given strict instructions to all the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police that strict action should be taken against black marketing, illegal storage and unauthorized commercial use of domestic gas cylinders.

Under this, regular inspections of gas agencies, warehouses and distribution systems will be done. If any irregularity is found, immediate legal action will be taken against the concerned person or agency.

Control room for complaints and regular press briefings

Special control rooms will be set up in all districts for quick resolution of consumer problems. Apart from this, regular updates will be given on the official social media pages of the districts to stop rumors and provide correct information to the people. Also, a press conference will be organized every day at 3 pm in each district, in which the District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) and ADM (Supply) will share the latest information related to the status of fuel and gas in the state.
