By Truecaller A new family protection feature has been introduced in India. This new feature aims to help families protect themselves from scam and fraud calls together. Under this new feature, the company will create a safety circle, which will include 5 people from the same family. As part of this initiative, the caller identification app is launching a shared safety system that allows family members to monitor and manage potential threats across multiple devices. The company says that the company is launching this feature at a time when users across the country are being targeted by online scams. Such as impersonation fraud, AI voice cloning and digital arrest scams are on the rise.

Truecaller said the Family Protection feature provides users with real-time alerts on suspicious calls and potential scams. If a call comes in that detects a threat, this feature can alert the family admin and ask another family member to remotely disconnect the suspicious call. The company claims that this system provides security to vulnerable users, who can be easily targeted by hackers. With the help of the Safety Circle feature, any family member will be able to manage the security settings and alerts of other members participating in the group. Truecaller claims that while the new system allows users to share security protections with family members, it does not give users the option to access each other’s data. The company claims that call logs, messages and other personal information are kept private for each user.
