Shahid Afridi got furious after seeing this bad condition of Pakistan cricket, classed the selectors on making his son-in-law the captain
Pakistan Cricket Team: The condition of Pakistan cricket team is going from bad to worse. Recently, Pakistan has faced a 2-1 defeat in the 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh, after which everyone is heavily criticizing the Pakistan team. Many former veteran players of Pakistan are teaching their team and board very well. Now former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has strongly criticized the selectors of the Pakistan team.
Shaheen Afridi angry at the selection committee of Pakistan cricket team
Shahid Afridi has given a lot of class to the selection committee of Pakistan team. He said that many big decisions are being taken in the name of surgery. Senior players are being dropped and new players are being given a chance in the team, who do not yet have much experience of playing first class cricket. Shahid Afridi also slammed his son-in-law Shaheen Afridi and said that the selectors do not even know who should be made the captain in which format. Earlier, during the T20 World Cup 2026, Shahid Afridi had criticized Shaheen and talked about dropping him from the team. Now he has raised questions on making Shaheen the captain of the ODI team.
Selection committee deserves criticism – Shahid Afridi
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi said on Pakistan’s poor performance, “You saw the performance in the T20 World Cup 2026 and after that we lost the ODI series against Bangladesh by 2-1. According to me, the selection committee deserves criticism. All the members present in the committee have played a lot of cricket, but despite this they do not know about who should be made the captain in which format.”
Shahid Afridi said on Pakistan’s senior players not getting a chance in the team
After the ODI series defeat against Bangladesh, Shahid Afridi further said, “You have been taking decisions again and again in the name of surgery. You are not giving chances to senior players who actually deserve a place in the team. Even though their T20 performance has not been special, their ODI record has been excellent, but in the name of surgery, experienced players are being dropped from the team despite their excellent ODI performance.
Shahid Afridi said a big thing about inexperienced young player
Afridi further said, “In their place, you are including such young players in the team, who have hardly played a few first class matches. The level of your domestic cricket is also not so good that they are continuously preparing such players who can cement their place in the Pakistan team. This is not a surgery. In fact, there is a need to do surgery in the selection committee.”
