Do the Preparation
You can simply save your game right at the entrance. Because the encounter rate is so low, keep in mind that you will likely need to reset your game multiple times.
The Repel Trick to Survive
The best thing is to put a Level 26 Pokémon at the front of your party and use a Repel. This prevents weaker Pokémon from appearing. Perks? Well, it statistically increases your odds of running into a Chansey in Area 2.
The Approach
Once you actually encounter one, try not to hurl every ball you have at them. Chansey has a massive flee rate, and it may simply run away before you can blink.
The Bait
Now this method sparks debates, and not everyone approves of it. However, throwing bait makes the Pokémon less likely to run, even if it makes them harder to catch. What is recommended is to start with one or two pieces of bait, then immediately switch to your Safari Balls. Keep the sequence intact, and after the bait, throw your Safari Balls. If it doesn’t stay in the ball after two or three throws, you can throw another piece of bait.
