When Iran gave green signal to Indian ships from Homurz, Pakistani expert got irritated and said – ‘In this fight we…’

New Delhi: Due to the ongoing tension between America and Iran in West Asia, the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz was stopped. In such a situation, India’s two LPG tankers Shivalik and Nanda Devi are reaching India safely with a total of 92,712 metric tons of gas. Iran gave way to these ships, due to which there has been panic in Pakistan. Pakistani expert Qamar Cheema expressed anger on this and said that Pakistan should also get such facility from Iran.

Pakistani expert’s anger and questions

Qamar Cheema said that Iran allowed the ships to pass by calling India a friend, but why are Pakistani ships stuck? He asked that if Iran has stopped the traffic, then why the exemption given to India is not for Pakistan. Cheema says that the Pakistani people are very angry about this.

They said that we stood together in the war with Iran, expressed regret over the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, spoke against Israel, but what did we get in return? Why is Pakistan government silent?

He mentioned the call of the Prime Minister of India to the President of Iran and said what is our government doing? Cheema appealed that the Pakistan government should talk to Iran so that their ships can also pass.

Why does Iran give priority to India?

Cheema admitted that Iran would never anger India. India is a big country, there is an opportunity to build business and strong relations with it. Iran wants to become a regional power, hence sees benefit in strengthening relations with India. Relations with Pakistan were not good. Iran gets only political and diplomatic support from Pakistan.

He gave the example of Chabahar Port, where India has invested. Iran is happy with this because it helps to sideline Pakistan and Afghanistan. Also, Iran does not like Pakistan’s defense deal with Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan’s economic concerns

Cheema warned that if the ships did not arrive, there could be a severe shortage of LPG and other fuels in Pakistan. The government is giving subsidy of 2300 billion dollars, but it will last only for a few weeks. After that, you will have to take a loan from the IMF, which imposes difficult conditions.

Overall, this relief given to India has become a cause of jealousy for Pakistan. Experts say that relations have to be maintained in balance, but Pakistanis feel bad that Iran is giving preference to India. Now it remains to be seen what action the Pakistan government takes on this issue.
