Nora Fatehi song pulled offline after backlash over lyrics and visuals
The makers of KD: The Devil have quietly pulled a song featuring Nora Fatehi from YouTube, just a day after it sparked strong reactions online.
The track, Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse, also known as Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke in Hindi, showed the actor dancing in a bar setting alongside Sanjay Dutt.
Within hours of its release, clips spread widely, especially its hook step involving a pallu move. But the attention quickly turned critical.
Many users described the lyrics and visuals as suggestive and inappropriate. Some posts called the song “vulgar”, pointing to what they said were double meanings in the words.
Many social media content creators picked the song and made reaction videos on it, wondering about the inappropriate words and gestures used in the item number.
Soon after, the song video was no longer available. YouTube now shows: “Video unavailable. This video is private.”
However, the reaction was not limited to social media.
Priyank Kanungo, a member of India’s National Human Rights Commission, also spoke out.
When asked about the song on March 16, he said, “Who can sit with their civilised family and watch this?” Reports say notices may have been issued to the makers.
Filmmaker Onir also criticised the track, writing on X: “And the Censor board is busy with the naming of a film #GhooskhorPandat. Strange country we are becoming….opposing Valentines day celebration, interfaith marriage/celebration while ok with this rubbish.”
KD: The Devildirected by Prem, is a Kannada period action film set in 1970s Bengaluru. It stars Dhruva Sarja and is based on the rise of a gangster.
