Central government’s big decision amid increasing demand for LPG, now PNG gas will reach every house soon

Tezzbuzz Desk- In view of the increasing demand for LPG in the country and increasing pressure on supply, the Central Government has taken an important decision. The government has directed all states to approve new applications related to pipeline gas (PNG) connections within 24 hours.

The aim of the government is that more and more people should use pipeline gas instead of LPG cylinders, so that the demand for domestic gas can be reduced and the pressure on supply can be reduced.

Instructions to dispose of pending cases quickly

The Central Government has written a letter to the states asking them to resolve all the pending cases related to pipeline gas as soon as possible. Also, instructions have been given to approve new files without delay.

To make this process easier, the government has also advised to waive the road restoration charge i.e. the fee for filling the road after digging it. Apart from this, it has been asked to appoint a nodal officer in every state, so that there is better coordination in the work and there is no delay in the process.

Pressure on LPG supply, but situation under control

The Petroleum Ministry told in the press conference that the availability of crude oil in the country is normal and there is no shortage of petrol and diesel. Although there has been some pressure situation due to increase in demand of LPG, but till now no distributor has completely run out of gas. Gas supply to domestic consumers is being continued as before.

Raids across the country to stop black marketing

The government has started strict action in many states to stop black marketing of gas. Around 600 gas cylinders have been seized in Delhi, while 10 people have been arrested during investigations and raids in Uttar Pradesh.

Large-scale action has also been taken in states like Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh, where thousands of cylinders have been seized. Teams of oil marketing companies are also continuously inspecting.

12 thousand raids, 15 thousand cylinders seized

Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said that inspection teams have so far conducted about 12,000 raids across the country and seized more than 15,000 gas cylinders. He has appealed to the people not to panic while booking LPG and use online medium for gas booking.

Keep an eye on commercial gas supply also

Many states have issued new orders to maintain the smooth supply of commercial LPG. A high level committee is reviewing the problems related to this supply.

The government is also promoting the use of alternative fuels like kerosene and coal to reduce the pressure on LPG. Several states, including Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Kerala, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka, have issued orders for kerosene allocation.
